Privacy by Design

We believe your data belongs to you. Identity Autofill was built to function entirely without collecting, storing, or transmitting your personal data. We do not have servers, we do not track your usage, and we do not sell your information.

1. Data Collection

We operate on a strict Zero Data Collection policy:

  • No analytics or tracking cookies.
  • No recording of the forms you fill or the websites you visit.
  • No remote servers for data processing.

2. Permissions Usage

The extension requires specific permissions to function. Here is why we need them:

activeTab

Allows the extension to access only the specific tab you are currently viewing when you click the extension icon. It does not give access to your entire browsing history.

scripting

Required to inject the "autofill" logic into the web page to fill the form fields.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the Random User Generator API (https://randomuser.me/) solely to fetch mock identity data (names, addresses, etc.).

  • This is a read-only operation.
  • We do not send any user data to this API.
  • The API connection happens directly between your browser and randomuser.me.

4. Local Storage

We may use your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save your preferences, such as your preferred password length. This data never leaves your device and is removed if you uninstall the extension.
